Chelsea have today confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of Spanish striker Alvaro Morata.
A club statement confirmed the twenty-four year-old forward will join the Blues “subject to him agreeing personal terms and passing a medical”.

The announcement means Chelsea’s heavily reported search for a new first-choice striker should now be over. In recent weeks Sergio Aguero, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Andrea Belotti have each been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge but it is Morata that the Chelsea board have decided to put their faith in with what will undoubtedly be a sizable transfer fee.
Di Marzio, who broke the news of an agreement between Chelsea and Real Madrid earlier this morning, believe Chelsea will pay around £70 million for the Spanish international, making him a club-record signing.
