Chelsea Football Club have announced the departure of Asmir Begovic to Bournemouth and Dominic Solanke to Liverpool.
Begovic has signed a “long-term deal” with the Cherries 10 years after signing for them on loan when they were in League One.
The 29-year-old made 17 league starts during his two year spell at Stamford Bridge, signing from Stoke City.
Shortly after the £10million transfer was announced, Begovic said:
“I am coming into an important part of my career.
“I want to show people what I am capable of.
“Being part of a title-winning team at Chelsea was amazing but I felt now was the right time to move on because I want to be playing regular football.”
Bournemouth secured a third successive season in the Premier League after finishing ninth in the table.
Eddie Howe has been full of praise for his new signing, as is quoted in a Bournemouth club statement:
“Asmir is an outstanding goalkeeper who has proved himself capable of performing at the highest level over a number of years.
“He is a leader as well and exactly the kind of character you want in the team.”
Dominic Solanke’s move to Liverpool was also confirmed, with the youngster rejecting a new contract to remain with the Blues.
The fee is likely to end up being £3million, with a tribunal set to assess the starlet’s value.
Solanke has been at loggerheads with Londoners over a new deal and desperate for first-team opportunities.
He made his Chelsea debut in 2014 but after a loan spell at Vitesse has been limited to reserve football.
Solanke will link up with the Reds when his contract runs out on July 1.
