Thorgan Hazard is set for a sensational return to Stamford Bridge as Chelsea reportedly decided to trigger the Belgian’s buy-back clause.

Chelsea’s option to repurchase their former player and Eden Hazard’s younger brother is expiring very soon, but with the reported buy-back clause said to be as low as €15m, the Londoners have decided the low price warrants the gamble.

When asked last week about a potential deal, Hazard said:

“I think nothing of it.

“The issue has come up in the media again, and it will probably do so more if I play well and score goals.

“However, in the end, it’s a matter between clubs.

I haven’t spoken with anyone from Chelsea, and I’m glad to be a Borussia player.”

Having scored against Barcelona during Wednesday’s Champions League clash, the second of four Hazard brothers could certainly prove to be a major coup for the Blues, who deemed him surplus to requirements in 2015.
