Chelsea have directly enquired about the availability of Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso. 

The Frenchman had been linked with a move to Arsenal, but the Gunners failure to qualify for Europe which could make the Blues more appealing to the 22-year-old. 

According to L’Equipe, Lyon’s President Jean-Michel Aulas has been in London to discuss a number of potential moves with the Blues. 

With Aulas looking to bring in Kurt Zouma on loan and secure the permanent transfer of Bertrand Traore, the Londoners hold serious bargaining power over the Ligue 1 side.

Last season Tolisso snubbed Napoli in order to continue his development and has since become an integral part of the Lyon midfield, with a number of clubs said to be chasing his signature. 

The France international scored 14 in 47 games for Lyon last season, helping them secure fourth in Ligue 1.
