Juventus wing-back Alex Sandro has decided he would like to hand in a transfer request, according to reports in Italy, following heavy speculation of a move to Chelsea.
The Brazilian is considered one of the best players in the world in his position, and it is no secret that Chelsea are in need of more wing-backs as Antonio Conte looks to build a squad capable of dominating both England and Europe with his 3-4-3 formation.
La Repubblica claim Sandro is eager for a move to the Premier League and the high wages that are found there. Roman Abramovich is said to be happy to double Sandro’s current wages, while the €60 million Chelsea are offering Juventus for the player would provide the Old Lady with a profit of over €30 million on the 26-year-old, having paid Porto €26 million for his services in 2015.
The deal would be an important one for Chelsea and their fans who have been calling for world-class signings after recently growing tired of a lack of transfer activity.
If the signing is completed, it is possible that no announcement will be made until the 1st of July at the earliest, due to the beginning of Chelsea’s new deal with Nike coinciding with the official opening of the summer transfer window.
