According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are keen for Petr Cech to return to Stamford Bridge.

The Czech stopper left the Blues for cross-city rivals Arsenal in 2015, after the club made it clear that Thibaut Courtois was number one.

That switch brought an end to a trophy-laden 11-year career in west London, and left Chelsea fans mourning the loss of a player they held at ‘legendary’ status.

Cech is still held in high regard by the hierarchy of the club, according to the Daily Mail – who also claim the 34-year-old is one of four greats the club want to hand off-field roles to in future.

Alongside Cech, Chelsea have their eye on Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and soon-to-depart John Terry.

The Daily Mail say Chelsea are keen to avoid a situation similar to Manchester City and Arsenal -who have been unable to embed their own heroes into off-field roles – indicating that club chiefs are in constant contact with Cech to remind him of their fondness for him.
