Chelsea missed out on a famous domestic Double after a dreadful performance against Arsenal in the FA Cup Final at Wembley.
The Blues fell behind early on in dubious circumstances. Referee Anthony Taylor overturned the clear offside called by his assistant and ignored the blatant handball moments earlier, gifting Sanchez a goal and the Gunners the advantage.
Worse followed in the second half, Victor Moses was red carded for a second bookable offence, the second being a ridiculous and unnecessary dive, just as the Pensioners had started to build some momentum.
The Blues momentarily had cause for hope, Diego Costa levelled for the West Londoners, only for a lapse in defensive conentration to prove costly with Aaron Ramsey headed home three minutes later.
Chelsea were a pale shadow of the side who won the league title and were made to look extremely average by a fired up Arsenal side who clearly wanted to prove a point after their shambolic Premier League campaign, that saw the club fail to qualify for next seasons Champions League.
It was a disappointing end to such a fantastic season for Chelsea.
