Frank Lampard could be set for a sensational return to English football, with a Premier League and Championship club interested.

The 38-year-old’s deal at New York City has not been extended, leading to frenzied speculation that he could be set for another stab at the Premier League…despite his age.

The former Chelsea vice Captain has 106 England caps, three Premier League titles, a Champions League winner’s medal and four FA Cups to his name.

But speculation continues that he isn’t ready to hang up his boots just yet.

Having spent two seasons in the MLS, the bookies have linked the Englishman with both Crystal Palace and Brighton.

Even in his late 30s, Lampard, who has a house in Surrey, would seem to bring a guarantee of goals – something that Palace could desperately do with.

Skybet offer odds of just 5/2 that Lampard – pictured in New York with Eagles owner Steve Parish in November – will sign for Palace before September 3, 2017.
