Chelsea midfielder Charly Musonda has returned from loan at Real Betis and is training with the Chelsea squad.

The 20-year-old has been on loan at Spanish club Real Betis since January 2016 and renewed his loan spell in the last transfer window for the 2016/17 season.

However, Musonda has struggled recently and manager Victor Sanchez has cut his loan spell short.

The winger could be a useful addition for Antonio Conte’s side given his pace and ability to dribble down the wings.

He has only made 8 appearances this season for Real Betis and has struggled with injuries. However, despite his poor form, he still managed to create eight chances and one assist in eight games.

He recently returned to Chelsea after sustaining a knee injury in 25 October, and has now returned to Chelsea for possibly the rest of the season.

However, Spanish newspaper Estadio Deportivo suggest that Musonda’s former Belgian club Anderlecht are interested in taking Musonda on loan in January.

Musonda joined Chelsea in 2012 from Andelecht’s youth squad.

Chelsea player, Kenedy, (20), has also returned to Chelsea after a disastrous loan spell at Watford, where he too suffered a knee injury in September and made only one appearance for the Hornets.

Both players could provide useful depth as wing-back or winger respectively.

Chelsea will hope to make it 11 wins in a row this weekend at Crystal Palace.
